Hi there,

I had the same problem. My module worked fine on my development machine. When I packaged it up, and installed on my "test server", I was getting the same error as you reported.

After many headaches trying to pinpoint the cause of this error, I finally noticed that the Connection property for my DataContext was set to “DatabaseConnectionString”. I changed this to “SiteSqlServer” (which is what Michael Washington recommends in his tutorial). After making that change, my module came to life!!!

Hope that helps,

Pete

I had the same error 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation...DataContext..ctor()...'. It was the connection string. Open your Linq DataContext in Visual Studio, left-click on the white space an check Properties.. Connection. Lost a many hours with that, oooh..

Thanks for the hint!
