Got a quick question about DNN installations with regards to hosting.
I've read in the forums that people seem to keep asking for hosters who can host DNN. What is the difference, and why would some hosters not be able to run DNN??
The only time ive had to put websites up live, is with my employer. But as we have a dedicated server (plus use our own cms), there has never been a problem in just FTP'ing the site up, adding it as a website in IIS, FTP'ing the database (or using management studio), and off we go.
Is DNN different? The only difference I came across when installing it on my laptop locally, was to do with giving network service full access to teh folder. Can I not just FTP a dnn website straight up to a shared host, ftp up DB, and run as a normal website?
Sorry if this sounds like a daft question, I only d/l DNN for the first time a couple of days ago!
Thanks, Paul.
