At present, I use Crystaltech to host several sites. Their web control center is really great and they offer Smarter Mail and Smarter Stats for every account.  They allow the use of a custom DNS on every site hosted under your user account and I like that too. I need something comparable. Can anyone reccomend a great DNN web host? I really would like to get away from CT if possible.

I use DNNPower (http://www.dnnpower.com) and Goddady for sites. My experience is:

DNNpower is quite expensive (starting 20$ for a site) but you have most of control over your site ( Your own IIS pool, direct access to SQL database by SQL manager...) The speed is the best for DNN for now I am quite sure and the service is very responsive.

Goddady is cheap, even at 4.9$ you can have a dotnetnuke site with lot of diskspace and bandwidth (much more than DNNpower). They also have lot of tools but I rarely use. One big limitation with this host is you cannot restore your DNN site elsewhere to use on Goddady by yourself because their SQL server only allow to restore databases which create by their own system :(

+I also use Keepalive module from Xepient solution and the results are very good (even on cheap hosting Godday), you wont notice much different on speed unless you have a tool like Performance tuneup (dnn360.net) or pagegenerator (ventrian.com) to see how many miliseconds the server use to generate your pages , Keepalive  is the MUST for DNN developer with realy good price, ( I am not promoting, but sharing my own experiences)

Try to avoid Goddady as you cannot easily install on the root of your site.

I won't defend Godaddy but they changed a bit. First of all they let you backup and restore your database (including your own environment)

And you will be able to install/move dotnetnuke to root path of your hosting account. This will also let you have multiple dotnetnuke parent portals under single dnn instance.

You can check out my tutorials if you are interested about installing DotNetNuke to Godaddy Root.

Hi Beth Vest,

I recommend PowerDNN because it hosted my site for months and I haven't experienced anything bad about it. Their support is excellent and they have fast DNN hosting servers.
