I have this exact same error (test works but actual notifications do not and get the system.net.mail.... error) and am also looking for a solution.

Thanks!

I have the same error, if I entered the 127.0.0.1, the "TEST"  link looks like work well. but the smtp email did not receive any email about the TEST Feedback!

By the way, the same configure in local machine works well! how I got the where the problem exist? what I need the hosting provider to do?

If you use 127.0.0.1 for your SMTP server, you must have SMTP installed on the same system as the web site is on.  For most hosts, this is not the case.  Your host will have a mail server to use, and details on how to access it.  Contact them for the information  And even though something works at home, unless you configure your home system identically to the hosting company's server, there will need to be changes made when putting your site on your host.
