I need a role to edit pages and create/delete pages only. The Admin role is too power with functions that I don't want the editor has.

the ability to delegate roles to admin functions was added in 5.0, you can simply edit those pages just like a normal page. Note: 5.0.1 is coming out early next week and has a substantial amount of bugfixes, you may wisyh to wait until then to use a 5.x version

Create a new Security Role "Editors"  in Admin :: Security Roles and add all the users, you would allow editing all pages.

For all pages, they shall be able to edit, grant "Edit" permission on page level. They can add and delete modules and create child pages as well.
