This is in the RoadMap for the 5.4 release

The actual issue is here:

Working in 5.2.3, still not able to solve this...
My path is :

<configuration>
<system.web>
<authentication mode="Forms">
     <forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" protection="All" timeout="60" cookieless="UseCookies" />
</authentication>

So what should I change. If I do mode="forms", I get an error

well, your link doesn't say 1 word regarding XML unless you click on the link.

I keyword search when looking up issues so that never came up in my list.

Anyway, Cathal has identifed the issue we'll get it fixed

6/28/2011 - Running DNN 5.6.2 here.  My occurrence of this error was caused by installing adefHelpDesk module yesterday.
To recover, I renamed the current web.config to a web-config with a date on it, and went back to the most recent backup of the web.config file.
Now I can log in and remove the adefHelpDesk module.

If installing any of the Core modules, you don't really need to make backups beforehand... but if installing 3rd party modules, make a backup of the files directory and the SQL DB first.
