Hello,

I had my first customer sign up to my website last night. Which is great!

But, for some reason, the only way I found out was by the email from paypal saying money had been received.

There was no notification from DNN and when I look at which security roles the user was assigned to they are not a member of the role they just paid for....

I am running 4.09.00 which appears to be fine in all other respects...

I have looked in the Log Viewer and there is nothing except a record showing the user signing in....

Is there any way to debug what has gone wrong please?

Thanks

Trevor

 Hey Daniel,

EMails are a tricky thing in DNN, however, you may need to play with the following settings:

Administrator's email address

Host's email address

The "Host Settings"  email address

The "Host Settings" SMTP Server

When emails aren't sending out, it is usually one of those 4 settings that cause it to fail.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the email settings as all other emails come through fine.

I am more worried about the fact that the memeber didnt get added to the new security role that he has just paid for....

Anyone seen this problem please?

Thanks

Trevor

Oh, I'm sorry.  When I read your first post, I thought the problem was email related.

It may be possible that PayPal has not yet done the IPN over to your site (did they give you cash or an echeck that has to clear?)

You might want to try setting up a test account so that you can try it out as well.

I will try and setup a test account and see what happens....

Just checking, the only place I have configured anything to do with Paypal is in the portal site settings when i have indicated my paypal account.

Might I have missed something else?

Thanks

Trev
