A fresh source install of DNN 5.0.1, I went to create some pages - Wasn't paying a lot of attention, but apparently the top page became a host only page.

How do I undo this? I know how in the DB, but how do I de-hostify a page from the DNN UI?

I tried changing the parent page to "Home" and seeing if that reset it - it doesn't . It still shows in the root menu and is host only.

I don't have access to the permission grid on the host-only pages, so I can't set any permissions,.

I'm only guessing, as I'm not quite sure how you would make it host only. I haven't run into this before...

The only way I can think to possibly remove the host only permissions via the dnn ui, would be to change the Parent Page to your home page (something besides admin/host). Then goto that parent page's settings and click the Copy Permissions to Descendants link. This might kill the superuser role, but it also might not...

I tried modding the DB to undo it - Yea, totally hosed something, so I'll reinstall and try to recreate the situation.

It had something to do with the permission grid loading up with nothing modified (all empty boxes) and I didn't do anything other than enter a name and click update.

I didn't try the copy to decendents trick... I'll try that if I can get more host pages when I set it up again.

OK - I managed to create more Host Only pages, and the "Copy Permissions to Decendents" didn't fix the problem.

To create a host only page - My steps :

Go to the Modules Definitions page (I assume any page under HOST will work)

Click "Add" page in the control panel

Enter a Page Name
No Parent Page selected (not sure if this matters or not)

Click update.

You now have an admin only page!

Notes - The permission grid is there and the Admin permissions are locked before I click update.

I follow these exact steps (except on the HOME page instead of a sub page of HOST) and it creates a normal page.
