Can someone please help me get the HostHeader tag to work. My understanding is that if you add key HostHeader with value of "" to the web.config file, it would eliminate the subdirectories from your address bar. In other words, I would like to see www.examplesite.com in the address bar rather than www.examplesite.com/dotnetnuke/website. Or www.examplesite.com/default.aspx rather than www.examplesite.com/dotnetnuke/website/default.aspx.

Thanks

Ok. I gave up and moved the website folder to the root but I still have "website" in the url, i.e. www.examplesite.com/website.

Check your DNN portal aliases, and google "IIS host headers" for a ton of help. Microsoft have an IIS forum as well.

Thanks.

The alias that can not be changed is www.examplesite.com/website.

The others are www.examplesite.com and examplesite.com.
