Can any one tell me what was the last version where the email notification actually worked and is the source code for this version still available?

I kinda like the description in the header for this forum - create a forum on your site just like this one -  I did and it works exactly like this one on Dotnetnuke and there in lies the problem

several problems with the current version on dotnetnuke - first page opens with great amounts of blank space and only one or two posts - forum shows 20 pages but when you click on the 20 it opens the 6th page and there is actually no page 20.

as DNN surges ahead it appears the forum gets worse and worse. I need to get the email notification working so will start my coders from the working version upwards. True I could simply buy one of the commercial forum modules but I would prefer to keep using the same as the dotnetnuke site uses - interesting thought - is the PE version going to use a commercial forum module or is it going to include the current buggy one.

John,

this Forum on the DotNetNuke.com site is the same Version as the Version for the community. The project Team didn't do special support for the professional version.  We supporting over this Forum.  If I understand right the company doing a special support for the users of the proffessional DNN version.  But I couldn't doing any statements on it.

The Forum Team knows of one Notification Bug and it's only related to the by thread notification.  All other Notification i.e Notification Forums, Moderator Noification and notification subsciption in user settings working well.

Also a pagecount issue with +1 page is known.  Some other issues I didn't want list here are known too.

I think you have to check the user manual, you could download from he project download page, to come out what you have setting up for notification working.

ok I am registered on the dotnetnuke site - my email address is correct in the profile. I click my settings in the forums - open up tracking and click all general forums then submit - apart from this I also click the notification box on the post  I surf back to the forum page click my settings open tracking and now I am no longer shown as tracking general forum posts -

by the way I did not get an email notification of your reply post

what am I forgetting - remeber I am aging a bit and so my brain power is not as good as a young fellow.

Selecting Email Notification

To receive notification on a particular thread, you must check the checkbox at the bottom of the add post screen. If you have opted to receive notification for an entire thread, this checkbox will not be available to you

Figure 9.1 – My Settings: Profile tab

the above of course looks nothing like whats in the browser

the above does mention that email tracking will be memtioned later in the doc however I could not actually find it mentioned later

If you real searc in this form and checking the Gemini on support.dotnetnuke.com for the Forum module, you will see that the Email Notification on thread/post side have a bug.  The bug is allready fixed for the upcoming version, if it comes to release any day.  I have no timestamp when a new version comming out.
