This looks like a configuration issue, googling "Domain Name [domain] Does Not Exist In The Database" will probably help.

I tried this the other day and got thousands of Forum posts that didn't really solve anything.  But I'll look again.

do you have multiple portals in the same installation or are you using DNN's multiportal feature and added another portal to the existing installation?

Sebastian,

I'm not sure what you mean, so the answer is probably, "no".    I kind of know about DNN having multiple portals but I've never done that.

This is physically another instance of DNN 5.0 copied to a separate web site folder for a different hosting customer.  So there is nothing connecting these two DNN installations.

You aren't trying to use the same database for both installations, are you?  Each separate physical installation should have its own separate database.

No, each installation has it's own database.  Each customer can create their own SQL Server database via the Helm 4 control panel.  These customers don't even know each other.

I think you can use a different object qualifier for each installation to get around that limitation....

If you are talking about the object qualifier prefix for the tables created in SQL Server, that would not be necessary since each customer will be creating their own SQL Server database and not sharing a common database.

The weird thing is that I can just copy the DNN 5.0 installation into customers web site folder, and then when you open the site in a browser, it comes up with this error.  You don't even have time to start going through the wizard.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

Alex,

Also, many of these forum posts that I found via Google, have suggestions for the hosting customer to modify some permissions or something on the server.  This is obviously not something the hosting customer would be able to do.  And it's not something I would want to do for every customer that wants to install DNN.

It should be a no brainer.  Copy the files into a folder and start installing.

Some where there's a conflict I think, and I'm not sure where.
