I've got a rather basic DNN portal, that uses one of the standard skins that comes with DNN. I altered this skin to centre align the top icon. When the page renders, and then you view surce, there is a line at the bottom of the page, outside the main TABLE tag. This resembles this.

<input name="__dnnVariable" type="hidden" id="__dnnVariable" value="dnn_dnnNAV_ctldnnNAV_xml<root id=dnn_dnnNAV_ctldnnNAV><n bcrumb=1 selected=1 id=36 key=36 txt=Home ca=3 url=http://www.heavensenthelp.com.au/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx lhtml=<img alt="*" BORDER="0" src="/Portals/_default/Skins/DNN-Blue/breadcrumb.gif"/> css=main_dnnmenu_rootitem...... />

I've just taken a sample for the page. It's appear to have reference to every page in the portal in this, and this"junk" is coming up in word density tools, as a result, I'm just not getting very good results in search engines. Does anyone have any pointers on how I can remove this? I'm lost

Thanks

SirClutzz

this is the second time this has been reported - same url as far as I can remember - looks like it is coming in via the skin package - did you download the skin from anywhere except dotnetnuke.com have you installed any 3rd party modules and if so which ones.?

The company uses dnn and is a baby sitting company. If the company is actually doing it then in Australia it is illegal and should be reported to www.acma.gov.au/ this body is responsible for all media and communications matters in australia - the practice is unsoliticed advertisment.

First however contact the site and ask why there is an advertisement for their site on your site.

To remove the problem delete the skin file on your site and replace it with one from the install packages - make sure you download the install package from dotnetnuke.com - with ftp delete the skin directory for dnn-blue and then ftp the new one to the site

Please let us know the out come.

one last thing - there was a post some time ago about a hosting provider that did some thing silimar to this to advertise its own company - who is your hosting provider.
