Hi

Is it possible to install DotNetNuke 4.0 using MS Access instead of MS SQL Server?, and how? if yes

Hello:

Snowcovered.com has a section called "Data Providers" that you might want to keep your eye on.  Although I don't see any MS Access providers for DNN 4.x (or Oracle) I would imagine that someone could do this given the right price.  There is a whole new set of tables that are created to support the new Membership/Profiles/Roles paradigm that .NET with MSSQL Server is recommending.  I believe that this is optional, but might limit how users can authenticate.

Hi,

i'd try to persaud you not to go that route. At this point of DNN's lifecycle, you'd be stepping back 40 steps not just 2, SQL Express isn't that large or complex to install/manage. If more that anything, i'd be inclined to develope an Oracle or Postgress DataProvider.

Access has its basterdized version of SQL syntax, so it wouldn't be as straight foward to port as you might think.

just a thought.

OK I have found a lot of discussions about data provider, but nothing I can use. Please is there somebody who know if it is possible to install DDN x with database MS Access or MYSql?  If yes how?
