I recently too a clients site and duplicated it on a development site to upgrade the DNN version from 4.3 to 4.9 and to update the skin. Links to files on the old site work just as you would expect - they allow the user to download them or it opens a pdf viewer. However, on the development site they all resolve to the following error when running Firefox. When testing in IE it just hangs for ever.

Any help wouold be greatly appreciated.

  • make sure, the file types have been added to the list of allowed types in host settings
  • make sure, permissions have been granted for the folder holding the file to the current user or one of the roles, he is member of.
  • Check the DotNetNuke event log for errors.
