Hi,

I'm in doubt if I found a bug in DNN or if I'm missing something here.

I've created a new custom user property field for Birthdate, datatype is Date.
When an administrator create/edits a user and sets the user's birthdate, the date is saved as a string value into the DNN_UserProfile table in the date format of the locale of the admin. (For example the admin uses the EN-US locale mm/dd/yyyy)

Now if the user uses the EN-GB locale and tries to edit his profile, DNN isn't always able to retrieve his birthdate. For example when the user's birthdate is 29 Dec. This is because the EN-GB dateformat uses dd/mm/yyyy

Is there a way of storing the date fields in an independed locale format?

Rgrds,
Jos

Was there a solution for this?  We have a number of clients looking for the dd/mm/yyyy format.  Thanks!

Candace

The only solution is loggin it into the public issue tracker (2nd from top) at support.dotnetnuke.com to get it fixed in a future version.

Hi Candace,

I ended up with having a Normal text field instead of DateTime field. And added a regular expression to it.
This works fine and fullfills my needs.

Kind regards,
Jos
