I am really curious, it is the forum module abandoned?,

Where is the DNN Team to do something?, why DNN want to keep using a very old forum (with few features)..

600 000 registered users need a better forum, or I am wrong, really wrong?

Cheers,

You are right.

But it's near 1 1/2 yrs since anyone has cared to fix bugs... or even tell us what is going on - so the forum modules, as well as DNN are getting abandoned.

Months ago we were told the forums was close to release... looks to be running ok on DNNforums.com - at least much better than this.

I've given up on the lot.  I won't purchase a 3rd party module... to be blunt... because this has been so disgraceful I'm actually starting to suspect it is intentional so we do go to purchase other options.  All I've been asking and hoping for in the last year is a bug fix.

actually I got a post notification from the dotnetnuke forums - first in a long long time - I keep clicking the notify me box just in case - maybe finally they have fixed this problem.

You've got the point! Why would we use DNN if we have to buy a non-open source module? Apperantly there are Active Forum and YetAnotherForum available only Really suspicious...

I'm willing to buy module provided that source code is provided. I'll rather abandon DNN if I have to use a paid Forum Module.

George.

Thanks,
George

I don't have a problem paying for modules if they offer more or work the way I like, but as a small business I also have to consider costs and be prepared to make compromises.

When it came to DNN, I expected it to do what it "says on the box"... with anything else being an optional extra.  With a good community, professional developers - I never would have thought something as simple as these bugs would be accepted for so long.

Something someone said elsewhere that is unrelated made me think the only reason the DNN team might accept this is to send business to 3rd party providers... and even thinking this could possibly be the case, I'd rather take up a whole new solution and scrap DNN than spend money on something when all I need is for the DNN Forums module to do what it says it does when I took up DNN as a solution.

I am struggling to think what else can lead to such unprofessional and disgraceful management of the forum module development.  For a year people have just asked for a bug fix.
