I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. When adding links to the top menu, when I click on url under the advanced bit of the page creator, as soon as I select the url radio box, the page reloads, and the advanced section closes.

It only seems to do this if I use firefox to edit the page though. I can remote desktop into my other machine that runs windows and do it from there (this is in fact what i've been doing if I need to add or edit menu items) ,but this isn't ideal. I've asked a friend that deals with editing another site using dotnetnuke, and apparantly this happens using firefox on windows as well.

However, I obviously can't install internet explorer on linux (I therotically could, but I wouldn't want to, and shouldn't have to).

Is there a way to get this working properly so that I can edit my site fully using firefox?

Version of dotnetnuke i'm running for my site is 04.09.00

I can't upgrade easily either, as I have to wait for my host to do it. (It's hosted on a friend's server...not paid hosting...so I can't really bug him to upgrade it every time a new version comes out)

I've now installed internet explorer 6 on linux using the ies4linux installer, and I can add url's fine using that, so it's obviously something to do with firefox. However internet explorer is so slow under linux that I wouldn't want to use it unless I had to.

As a side note, i've noticed that the drop down menu's don't show under internet explorer on linux, and so I had to guess where the page menu was.

Sorry not sure what you mean here at all - can you be more specific?

Thanks.....

Sure.

When I click the external url radio button to add the url, the page refreshes as if i'd hit the reload button in firefox, and after that has happened, the advanced section will be closed again, effectively meaning it's impossible to add a url.

NB you should bug your friend to at least upgrade to 4.9.2 for security issues at least.
You need to be far more specific, what is the "top menu" - are you talking about adding new pages to the navigation menu?

Thanks...
