 Hey there, 

Back at it - this time wondering what the escape characters look like for the redirect: 

declare @tmpId nvarchar(4); set @tmpId = (select Email from users where username = '[QUERYSTRING:uname]'); select'<script>window.location="http://test.cs.org/lessons/CTN_Login?email='+@tmpId+'"</script>'

I'm getting errors on the ? and the =  -- but it seems that standard escape characters - ' - aren't working. What should i be searching for, to pull up some appropriate escape characters?

Your escape chars didn't come through in the post so I'm not sure what you've already tried.
 
You need to use URL escape codes rather than HTML escape codes, as follows (remove the spaces in actual use):
 
CHAR    CODE
 =     % 3 D
 ?     % 3 F

 
(I haven't tested so this is a suggestion rather than a promise.)
