i have similar problem. I upgraded my DNN from 4.5.1 to 5.2.2. Everything seems to be fine but i am missing all the modules (e.g. text/html, annoucements, documents, events, etc) in other portals except the main portal. I still can see these modules in my main portal. I do some reading and found that in version 5, DNN has all the modules moved to 'Externsion' under the HOST. I tried to install the available extensions but i get an error installing most of the modules. Any idea What could go wrong?

if there are modules missing in specific portals only, go to Extensions in Host menu, enter the extension details and check portal assignment. Next, go to Extensions in Admin menu and enter details for missing Modules. Check "publish permissions" and save details, even if unchanged.
