Just in case you are befuddled trying to get rid of the "empty" point that's showing up on the map - It's created by the map's description field.  Even if you clear the field, if the Rich Text/WYSIWYG editor is on, the editor will fill the field with an HTML character.

To fix this, change the description edit box to "Basic Text Box" mode and clear the field.  This seems to clear the mystery point on the map.
