Hi I have configured a new dotnetnuke site.

1) I need to add some files to the source code of the configured/hosted site. Is it possible to add files from the site(using admin login of the site URL), rather than adding the files in their physical path.

2) Also now I have used SQL Server 2005 express edition for backend. Is it possible to have the database inside App_Data folder, instead using SQL Server?

Please suggest me some solution.

Thank you

-Nisha

  1. to upload source files, you need to use ftp, rdp or a file manager in your hosting panel, DNN filemanager does only access content of  /portals subfolder. If you want to install Skins, Containers, Modules or Language Packs, there are installers included to upload and install.
  2. your database file may be located whereever you like, however you shouldn't move without need. SQL Express can access the database identically to "grown up" SQL Server versions, there is no need to switch to file based connection string.
