Hi All,
I installed the Starter Kit v 4.09.01.  Then, I created a new website and selected the DotNetNuke template.  I started the website (Ctrl-F5) which led me through the installation steps.  I selected the "Custom" method of installation at the beginning of the process.  I followed the steps and all the tests were successful until I reached the "Run Database Installation Scripts" page.

The problem is that when it gets to the "Run Database Installation Scripts" step it just hangs there forever.  I notice two weird things 1.) none of the images are loading on any of the pages which I figured was not a big deal and 2.) I get a javascript error:  Object expected; Line: 107.  I did some research and this line is this:  $('txtFeedback').value += s; in the function reportAction in InstalWizard.aspx.  Anyone have any ideas what is causing this or know the fix?

 Thanks, Rachel

Any particualar reason why you are using the stater kit rather than source or install version?

As a guess this is probably because you are using the Proxy with Visual Studio which dishes out a random port... make sure the website is running on IIS.

Well are you running the website on IIS? Have you set your permissions correctly?

Perhaps this will help (hot off the press):

The website is on IIS 6 on Windows 2003 server. It is now running fine and all permissions were set correctly per the instructions. And the Gallery Installer looks great. Can't wait to try it out.

I finally did get it to work by not installing the Active Directory option when going through the Custom install wizard (I did not try Typical or Legacy install). If I left this unchecked, everything worked fine. I read on another post that the Active Directory option needs to be unchecked upon installation, update the FCK Editor then install Active Directory (if needed). Otherwise, not required to update. We have chosen not to use Active Directory as it is, but I guess that will at least get you through the initial installation.
