Hello,

Until now, I had a single installation of DNN. I translated (in Italian) some phrases, i.e. the Feedback module, modifing the App_GlobalResources\SharedResources.resx file, in system mode.
Now, I have added a second portal, but when I add the Feedback module, I see the label in english language. How can I access to the translatation used in the first portal?

Thank you

Eclipse79

did you specify supported languages correctly for your portal in admin :: languages?

next, what is the preferred language in your ownuser profile?

please be aware, that feedback localization needs to take place inside >localResources > DesktopModules > Feedback > App_localresources in Host :: Language Editor to provide a valid translation.

In this section, I have: English and Italian both enabled. BUT "Enable Browser Language Detection For Current Portal" and "Enable Language Parameter in URLs for Current Portal" are disabled because I use a module for localization extension that requires this options to be disabled

My preferred language is Italian. Well, if I translate >localResources > DesktopModules > Feedback > App_localresources, I will have the translation in all my parent portals??

Translations made in Host :: Languages affect all portals of the installation:

  • system mode alters language pack files
  • host mode allows customizations for all portals, which don't get overwritten on upgrades of portal and/or language packs.

Localizations in Admin :: language pack affect current portal only and orverride system and host localizations,
