I am going to run 10 portals off 1 install with fairly high traffic. So far I have had great success with version 3.1.1 hosted on a dedicated server at maximumasp.

It has never crashed. All modules (and I have spent almost a g-note at snowcovered on modules and skins) have run flawlessly from day one, and everthing loads/runs fast. Perhaps it's my hosting.

After reading the horror stories of instability on dnn 4.x / asp.net 2.0 installs, I am worried about upgrading my stable dnn version 3.1.1. I am anxious to move to the .net 2.0 platform for it's rich features.

Is dnn 3.1.1 the best choice for stability?

Best Regards,

Mike.

There are mixed reactions, but in my honest opinion, and that's all I can give.. Don't move unless you have to just yet.

I know that from my understanding 3.1.1 is a great stable build.

There will be a time to upgrade, but I would really suggest you wait a little while.

I'd agree with Nina.  I'm running a production 3.1.1 environment on MaximumASP as well, and things are going pretty well.  In the process of experimenting with a migration to 3.2.2 -- but may decide to just hold off and just leap to 4.0.3 based on community feedback.

Hi,

you know the old saying

if it ain't broke , don't fix it....

if there's no compelling reason to force/requiring you to upgrade, stay put.
