I am developing a site that has a forum module with 202 Forums In 20 Groups.  Currently when I go to the page with the module installed the entire site and IE locks up for 45 Seconds +.   I have tested this on multiple computers and the same thing happens when using IE.  However, Safari and FireFox load almost immediately.  Any suggestions on how I can get the Forums Module to load quicker in IE.  Thank you in advance for your help.

What is the version of the I.E. ?  But I don't think this is a real issue on the forum module.  I think it happens with your installations, i.e. a issue on a prvious module upgrade or else.

IE 7 is really slow on rendering tables. The Forum module uses tables for really everyhing (even all the buttons are rendered as tables). This causes performance problems in IE. I hope that the next Forum module version will cut down on the table use where other CSS layout elements would be more appropriate.

Just an FYI, there is no roadmap to go to a completely tableless design (although I wish we could) as it is completely acceptable to use tables when presenting list format data (which is what we do). While I agree it uses tables too much, we won't ever completely elminate them. As for the next release, there is nothing around UI structure.

I am curious though, why do you really need 200 forums on a single page? The number we have here (about half that) is way too much in general and I see that as a usability concern of its own. (Just curious though).
