I have done several sucessful installs of DNN 4.x on a Windows Server 2003/SQL 2005. However, I am having problems with our new Windows Server 2008/SQL2008. I have successfully installed DNN version 5.0.1 on a Windows Server 2008 with SQL Server 2008 Dev Edittion. However, I cannot successfully install DNN 4.9.2 on the same server. After what appears to be a successful install of DNN 4.9.2, I click the link to access the portal, and I receive the following error:

HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbibben

The web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory.

The listed URL is: http://localhost:80/DotNetNuke492/install/

The same manual install procedure that I always use does not work on Windows 2008/SQL 2008. Has anyone else experienced this problem, an knows what is different, or what I am doing wrong?

I have added NETWORK SERVICE full control and I even added Everyone full control to the parent folder, which is called "DotNetNuke492". There is something that DNN5.0 does that DNN4.x does not do to make it compatible with Windows Server 2008.

I typically use a manual install. In the web config, I modify SiteSQLServer name & string, set autoupgrade=false and UseInstallWizard=false, and then use the following URL  to a manual install:

http://localhost/DotNetNuke492/install/install.aspx?mode=install

On DNN5.x this works seamlessly with Windows Server 2008/SQL 2008, but not so with DNN4.x?

Yes, the install folder also has NETWORK SERVICE and Everyone as full control.
