I am installing 4.0.2 and am up to the step where you do http://localhost/DotNetNuke and am receiving an error "The Page Cannot be Found".  When I try http://localhost/DotNetNuke/404.htm the page is displayed.  When I try http://localhost/DotNetNuke/default.aspx  I get the page not found error.  In IIS6 I do have the "Application Settings" tab of the virtual directory properties page set as shown on page 6 of the manual.  It is not recognizing the ASPX suffix and directing it correctly.  I assume this must be a common mistake yet I can't seem to find where I ma going wrong.

TIA for and assistance

Answering my own post.

In IIS 6, the web service was set to prohibit.  To check/set this, open IIS 6, and click on "Web Service Extension" in the left pane.  In the right pane insure that the "ASP.NET v2.0.50727" status is set to "Allowed".  If not, right click on the entry and change its status to "Allowed".  Now an extension of ".aspx" is recognized and forwarded to the correct module.
