Hello,

I have a website that has a complex front-end (Layers overlapping each otther) and I was wondering if there was a way to set two skins in DNN. One would be Front End skin and the other one would be used for Edit Mode.

As you can imagine when I am in edit mode and the layers overlapping each other, it is impossible to see Edit and Settings buttons.

Thank you for your help.

Didier

Yes, the Admin skin is the one that is shown in Edit mode.

I don't think you understood my question.

Once a user logs in and is in edit mode, buttons appear around the modules on the page, usually an add or edit button, a print button and a settings button.

Now when you are in edit mode prior to clicking an edit button, the skin is not admin but remains the same as the one you see on preview mode. I want to be able to change the skin once a user logs in.

My question is, is it possible and if yes can you explain me how to set it up?

Thanks.

you don't mean changing the skin but displaying edit controls. no, page moduls of the user gets save in a cookie, and it would require to modify the core to change the behaviour.

What about having a different skin per role.

Unauthenticated people would see one skin and admin would see another skin. Here is an example: I am on the home page and unauthenticated, I want to see Skin1. Now as soon as I login with an admin user, I want to see Skin2. Is that possible and if yes can you explain me how to set ip up?

Also, I see that dotnetnuke is adding div tags (<div id="dnn_ctr420_ContentPane"><!-- Start_Module_420 --><div id="dnn_ctr420_ModuleContent" class="DNN_HTMLContent"><div id="dnn_ctr420_HtmlModule_lblContent" class="Normal">) into my html. Is there a place in the web.config that defines if yes or no we want dotnetnuke to add div tags?

Thanks a lot for your help.

P.S. I am using DNN 5.0
