Dear friends,

I m facing problem with skin development. I want to add login module survey module news module html module in a skin at design time only. not at run time how can i do that ? i tried to add the survey.ascx as dnn user control in my skin.ascx file. but it is showing object reference not to set the instance. I tried to add <dnn:link> module by referring link.ascx. it is showing but problem is after admin i m not able to edit setting add question options of survey. means it is not going to edit mode. what should i do for this ?? i tried with  adding [ACTIONBUTTONS] [ACTIONS] tokens . that also not working. please let me know how to proceed ?

In short, DNN uses 2 kind of controls,

1.Skin obejcts, which you add to a skin, they are static, no settings can be changed an adminstrator.

2. Modules, which you cannot add to a skin 9in advance).

The sites administrator can add them and change the settings from the control panel

thanks for reply. Actually i want to do change appearance for set of page in our portal. For example i have totally 100 pages. out of 100 i want to dispaly survey module in only 10 pages. for another 10 pages i want to display news modules. i can do it by copy from one page also. but problem is if i want to remove survey module from that 10 pages. then i have to go to the pages individually delete.  now we have only 10 pages so it is not a big job. but if tomorrow 100 ,200, 500,1000 pages comes then it is a tedious job. Not only deletion moving module from top of the page to bottom vice verse also i have to do pagewise. Please let me know if any other way to handle this ?

Thanks & Regards

V.Ramesh

You can create a page template with the modules on it and use that if you create the page.

But adding it in ths skin is not possible with default DNN AFAIK

thanks for reply. Sorry for disturbing again. how to create page template ? do you means to say create one page with required moduels and while creating new page take reference of modules in page template and use it. am i right ? if this is the case then i can't delete the module. if delete the module from page template it is not reflecting to new page. i have to go & delete the module also in the new page. same result for moving modules from one pane to another pane within the page. am i telling right one ? please correct me if anything wrong from my side.

Thanks & Regards
