So I just did a fresh install, everything went flawlessly, until the installation finished and I went to login by clicking the login link...

And when I do that, I just get a 404 not found error. The page renders properly, all the default page setup there (DNN blurb and links, etc) But none of the controls work at all. Even when I click on the "Home" link at the bottom of the page, I get the same 404 not found page..

http://www.[site_removed].org/Home/tabid/37/Default.aspx gives the 404 also.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Greg

EDIT: originally had v4.9.1, but meant 4.09.02.

Greg,

Did you have any luck with this?  I'm getting the same problem with a fresh install of 04.09.03

if you are not using the default port (80) then uncomment the following line in web.cobfig

<add key="UsePortNumber" value="true" />

then edit the potalalias table and add the port number

Thanks John

I am using port 80, so unfortunately that fix doesn't help.

My problem might be something to do with the fact that I'm using a pre-propagation domain: [ip address]/$sitepreview/[sitename.org]

I've tried changing the HTTPAlias field in the PortalAlias table, directly in the database.  It was originally simply [sitename.org].  I changed it to [ip address]/$sitepreview/[sitename.org], but this results in an infinitely looping redirect on the home page.  Removing the HTTPAlias or deleting the record entirely causes an error...

Any more ideas?

Thanks

Jeremy

Just to update, I assigned domain name to the site and it now works.
