For those who are curious, I was able to restore the site very easily. Since the template had all the content saved, I only had to worry about the Blog module and the site's new Portal ID.

The new portaldID was a problem because of the many images on the web site pointed to the old portal (ID 0) and the new site was using ID 1. I could have used a tool like Engage's F3 to do a search and replace on all the modules, but I was lazy and I new portal 0 would never be used publicly. So I just copied the images to both portal's folders.

Restoring the Blog database files was as easy as using the SQL Import/Export wizard.

Hope someone else finds this useful.
