Hi, ,all. In a similar (but different) scenario I am also struggling to calculate a date. For example, I would like to default  one date field to be the value of another date field plus a number of months in a third field. As a compromise, I could perhaps just show the "target" date as a calculated field. However, I can't manage that either!

The difference from the other calculations in this thread is that the result should be a date and I can't seem to do that without conversion errors.

[DateCol] + [MonthCol]*[Ticks:TicksPerDay]*30 fails as I can't just add to a date. The MS function CONVERT can only convert dates to/from strings and CONVERT(CONVERT([DateCol_UDT_Ticks] + [MonthCol]*[Ticks:TicksPerDay]*30, System.String),System.DateTime) fails as "String was not recognized as a valid DateTime" - which is no surprise.

Can I do this at all?

Cheers,

Russell
