Hi all,

I've been trying to get our skin to use a XHTML doctype and have followed the information I found at:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryId/1226/using-Skin-level-DocTypes.aspx

For some reason this doesn't seem to be working for me. Is this still the way to acheive this? or is there a new method?

Following is the content of the xml file I created:

<SkinDocType>
    <![CDATA[<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">]]>
</SkinDocType>

Cheers Wayne

The recommended approach is having a separate file called: skinname.doctype.xml,

So if your skin is called Main.ascx, then you should have a file called Main.doctype.xml in you skin pack.

the content of the file is:

< xml >< ! [ CDATA [ < ! DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd" > ] ]> < /xml>

please note I added some extra spaces to make it show here...

Thanks for the reply Peter.

That's basically exactly what I've done and it didn't seem to work at first.

Is working now, I think it may have been caching stopping it from appearing.

Cheers Wayne
