As I am sure you all can tell by the "panic" in my post yesterday, I am new to DotNetDuke. The further I get into it the simpler it seems and the more confused I become as to why the entire world is not using the DotNetNuke Platform NO MATTER WHAT. When I log in as HOST and go to SITE SETTINGS I see a green bar across the top that simply says UPDATES AVAILABLE and I would love to update to v5. But I cannot find any "step by step" instructions toward doing this. Can anyone out there suggest a place that will give me anything close to instructions for updating to v5? Thanks again to you all for the great, kind and utmost professional responses. This has to be the world's most incredible team. I believe that someday DOTNETNUKE will be the ONLY Content Management Tool in the world. Why would anyone use anything else? Thanks again my friends.  Keith

Keith,

Right now, DNN 5.x is only "recommended for internal usage and development environments."  I would suggest you wait until there is a stable 5.x release before you upgrade.

You may, however, want to upgrade to 4.9.2, since that has security enhancements and bug fixes over 4.9.0.  Mitchel Sellers always has good tutorials for installs and upgrades.

Hope that helps,

Thank you Brian very much. The advise you have offered me has helped me greatly. I see that someday every website on the internet will be based on DotNetNuke. There is a lot to learn, but it has so much to offer now that I am learning it I cannot see anyone using anything else. Thanks again! Keith
