you usually need to grant file system permissions and configure IIS web site properly. I also prefer to use SQL Server with manually created blank database instead of database.mdf, because I can open it with tools simultaneously.

yes, you can.

check out tutorials at dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com and use the built int packaging wizard.

There are also module templates at various sources, e.g. www.mitchelsellers.com and www.codeplex.com/codeendeavortemplate

hi

In "installing DotNetNuke" chapter on "Professional DotNetNuke ASP.NET Portals" book , the authors had mentioned some

objective about configuring SQL Server.

For installing DNN5 I download the install package and extract it to my hard drive and deploy it on IIS manager on windows Vista.

Then i browse the application and after a while first page of install was appeared. In one page there was some setting for SQL Server.

Finally Installation has been completed and Home page of DNN5 were displayed.

My question is if i need to configure SQL Server before installing of DNN5 ...?

thanks.
