this is the URL of the link, not of the image. if you right click the image in the editor, you can enter image settings, where the URL is displayed (if it is not a css background image).

ah sorry, my mistake. Thats probably a css background image you are looking at. The css for the default portal template is located in /portals/0/portal.css, and all the images are located in the portal root. For instance, you should see a file named dnn_large_banner.png...

OK. Thanks.  Now i know what the image is for that module on that home page because you told me.

How do i, as a programmer or a DNN administrator for the site that wants to put his own content in that module, find the name of that file and replace it with my own.

I suggest to use a developer toolbar (available for IE 7 and FF3, built into IE8, press F12) to identify the attributes and classes of any element of the page.
