I wanted to setup a base template for our product pages.  Ive done this in as much as I have the 3 HTML modules I want on the page, its then up to the creator to fill in the 3 modules.  The first module, however, will always have the same basic content: a product image.  Is there a way to have this product image automatically filled in, based on the tab name?  (i.e. the tab named ProductA with automatically show ProductA.gif in the first HTML module)

Ive exported a completed product page as a template "with content", but I dont know how to go into the template and replace the image names so they work dynamically.

Is it even possible?

Thanks in advance.
-Chris

This generally works by using TokenReplace, which is an option in Module settings. If it is enabled, you can use [Tab:name] in your HTML and it will be replaced by the page name. There is a small glitch however: the setting to enable the token is currently not exported and you need to enable it in each new page based on the template.

Im looking at the .template file that was created after export.  its in XML format, can I still use TokenReplace there?  I dont think so (ive tried it and any page I create on that template defaults to the standard template, so Im guessing there is an issue)

you can use TokenTeplace before exporting and the token will be exported as well, but either export nor import do check for the "Replace Tokens" module settings. This is a known issue which needs to be fixed.

Thanks!  I was able to get this working, mostly.

Another question: is there any token that will allow me to get the parent "directory" of a tab?  (example: if I was at /products/productGroupA/productA, I would want the value of productGroupA)

Not sure it can be done........its not a huge deal, I can just make a template for each productGroup that contains the productGroup name hardcoded.  Just wanted to make it as softcoded as I could.

Ive also read you can define custom tokens........how is this done?
