I have a solution contains a website and servial web application.
and the usercontrol can't load to Design view in web application.

The codes in *.ascx

<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="TextEditor" Src="~/controls/TextEditor.ascx" %>

<dnn:TextEditor id="txtMetaKeyWords" runat="server" height="200" width="500" />

The codes in *.designer.cs

protected global::System.Web.UI.UserControl txtMetaKeyWords;
(It should be :protected global::DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls.TextEditor txtMetaKeyWords;)

The errors in Design view:
Error Rendering Control -txtMetaKeyWords.
The file '~/controls/TextEditor.ascx'  was not found.

My question:

How to solve this issue,let the Design view works and load the usercontrol into correct type?

Is there setting in Visual Studio 2008?

Hi,

I am facing the same problem with web application setup (WAP). Adding dotnetnuke.webcontrol dll helps a bit: the controls are present so that you don't get a compilation error, but in design mode the error throw an error. When I am coding I also also go to the desktopmodules folder instead of the project folder. That is weird too.

Any help is appreciated.

J.
