I've always used the install package for new production installs. I now see a Deployment package under downloads. How is this different than the installation package?

Thanks!

 Hi,

The deploy package (as I understand it) is meant to be used with the Web Platform Installer (http://www.microsoft.com/Web/downloads/platform.aspx). I do not believe that we should be concerned with it, as it is meant solely for consumption by the WPI tool. I speculate that providing the package in this manner on codeplex allows the WPI to retrieve the latest version.

I believe the Deploy package is intended for use only through the Web Platform Installer 2.0 (Beta).  You shouldn't manually download the Deploy package.

Hope that helps,

This is correct, the deploy package is to be used with the Web Platform Installer.  You can use WPI to install DNN if you wish, or continue with the Install package as in the past.
