In version 4.00.02 I am unable to remove the EDIT icon from the view.  When not in edit mode it shows up and non-admin users see it, too.  Tried to delete the [EDIT] reference in the template and can not.

I know you guys are busy, but why is it that in the new version I cannot get rid of the EDIT icon for all users.   At first I thought it was nice that an editor can edit the announcement without having to switch to edit mode.  However, the edit icon is always visible even when users are NOT logged in.  Ugly!  Can it be removed?  Nice touch adding the time of expiration and starting announcement.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

For me, it works after 5 times delete of [EDIT] reference.

Could you please elaborate on '5 times delete [EDIT]'? Are you referring to the edit tag in the item template? And wouldn't that remove the edit icon even when in edit mode?

I've had to resort to downgrading to 4.00.01 to remove the icon.
