Hey Sebastian,

Just to confirm. Of course - backup and test first - but for the process of upgrading now all we need to do is copy the new build into the root directory - except the new web.config - just leave the old web.config in place and voila the upgrade process will upgrade the web.config for us.

If this is correct it would be very cool if you could post a new blog that details this process as all of the blogs I have read in regards to the upgrade process include manually updating the web.config to include all of the modifications which can be very pain staking.

I am sure many would appreciate knowing that they don't need to modify their web.config manually in the process of upgrading. In fact this is the very reason that I often delay in upgrading because I hate looking forward to going through the web.config to make sure everything is perfect.

Thanks,

Pat

Pat,

yes, you are right and if you use Upgrade package, it will not contain web.config file and not automatically upgrade default modules.

I provide a check list for the upgrade process here.
