I don't understand, what you try to achieve?

Either integrate content using a module or use an external page, linked in the menu via (https) URL -  in this case it is not part of DNN solution and don't need to inherit from any DNN objects.

I didn't think my inital post would be this challenging to understand.

I don't want to integrate this particular page using a module, instead I am using a standard .aspx file.
http://domain.com/myfolder/myfile.aspx

However, I do need access to Dotnetnuke objects, so I have inherited from DotNetNuke.Framework.PageBase.
Everything works great except I havn't figured out how to secure the page.

If I change to https the pages gets redirected to http by dotnetnuke. (all non-secure dnn page do this)

There has to be a setting somewhere that I need to set to keep dotnetnuke from redirecting to http.

I'll break out the dotnetnuke source and step through it with the debuger to find out how it handles secure pages so I can do the same thing in my page which inherits from DotNetNuke.Framework.PageBase... and I'll post the solution.

I just thought someone here may know off the top of their head.

Thanks,

The solution here would be to include an querystring parameter in your url: "?ssl=true" .

A co-worker came across the same problem awhile back and dug in the source code to see where it happens.  This was discovered in the source.  This is one of those highly problematic-yet completely undocumented nuances of DNN.

?SSL=TRUE

It works, that is great.  Thanks!
