I have even tried NOT changing ANYTHING with the new page, just going into settings and hitting the UPDATE link, with nothing changed at all, and the format gets messed up. Hmmm, getting closer . . .

That's exactly the issue I blogged about, here, and why there needs to be a seperate forum for this module.  At any rate the only relief is to upgrade to the latest version of DNN v4.9.x.  or DNN v5.x.  Sorry.

OK, I am closing this out, but am posting my solution here for others to see. I have given up on upgrading, it was a mess and had to resort back to my old version of 4.9.0. What I did to create the same effect as the feed explorer was to use IFrame that loaded a regular frames page with a tabbed menu for the different news feeds I had. I used a feed parser written in asp as the main body of the frames page to parse the news feed. I also wrote a style sheet that mimics DNN. A lot of work that I was hoping to avoid. I agree with iwonder here, dnn NEEDS A FORUM for Feed Explorer!

I am also annoyed that there is no separate forum for feed explorer. In fact I would like to have the themes provided work well. And there is not much options in the properties of the feed control so that we could customize most of the things. I am not a good designer (in fact a very beginner). However, I would like to see my own effects in the feed explorer module.  Could we see some css applied to the feed explorer? One another programming issue: I think it must me some easy task but don't see the way out exactly- There is  Read more.. link after each item in the feed explorer but each one is broken. It would be better if I could either solve it or remove it.

Any clue or suggestion? Any help would be great. Thank you.

I think the best way to procede is to let the CT know about your issues with the Feed Explorer, but posting in the News forum isn't going to get the visibility, as many don't even look at this forum if they don't use it.  My suggestion is to post any issues with the FeedExplorer in the Chat About It forum, in particular, post a response to my post already talking about the issues.  My lone voice is not going to get attention.  Others who feel the same way need to add their voices to mine, and maybe we'll get some attention.  Click here to post to my existing Chat About It post.
