I searched the forums, but didn't get back any results.

The problem i'm having is, when I download the correct Install module for what I want to install, (for this i'm trying to install the Forum Module), I keep getting this error: Invalid File Extension For Custom Module Forum.dnn

Anyone have an answer?

Thanks for anyone's time!
Robert

It seems you are attempting to upload this as a content file using the file manager. You need to use Host -> Module Defintions, uplod new module.

I'm getting this same error message and I AM using the Host:Module Definitions to upload the file.  I've tried it now on two different custom modules, both of which are "valid" and both which throw that same error.  Any more hints?

You need to give a better error report. There is definately something wrong w/ how you are installing and not with the modules since it has happend to more than one of them. It is possible that you are attempting to install the modules in an older dnn version they do not support perhaps but I don't know for sure.

I found the answer somewhere....

Load the ZIP file.

The directions are in the module section of the help pages is kind of misleading because they make reference to an xml file.  But on another website, I found the same issue - and they recommended loading the entire ZIP file.  It worked like a charm.  Hope this helps.
