Regarding the [SEARCH] Skinobject I would like to ask what of the following is possible (and how):

  • Customizing the site icon to our favicon
  • Customizing the "site" name to our real site name (instead "site" > "Our Name")
  • Instead of google.com searching our local google.co.th
  • Adding additional search engines to the search bar, e.g. for translation sites

Hi Jen

The only real and easy way I've manage to get control over the [SEARCH] skin object is to recreate it using OpenWebStudio (free).

You can apply OWS configurations quite easily as Skin Objects so that shouldn't be a prob either.  There's a sample config already setup for this with notes etc here - http://www.openwebstudio.com/Community/Forums/tabid/55/forumid/2/threadid/23211/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Hope it helps!

Thanks David. That sounds promising, but I do not have a clue how to work with OWS or the code in the forum entry provided..

OWS is installed like any other module... though does require Admin/Host access to use it.

Configurations are like programs, that can be imported/exported or written in OWS. These can then be applied to an instance of an OWS module on the website, or as a skin object, or even as a scheduled item.

Have a look on the OpenWebStudio site - there's some intro tutorial videos in the wiki section too.
