I'm using the form and list module to create a list in which the column title(text data type) are going to be quite long(maybe up to 300 characters). I noticed that there's a limit of 50 characters for column titles. I increased the maxlength in the database and the configuration.ascx file, which allowed me to enter the new max amount of characters but when I save the column title it actually only saves the first 50 characters. Is there any other place I need to change the max length for column titles? is it possible at all? Is there any other way to get around this?

Did you change also the stored Procedures [UserDefinedTable_AddField] and [UserDefinedTable_UpdateField]?

thank you! that worked... I didn't know about the stored procedures.

Now that I got that out of the way. I ran onto another problem that I was not expecting. Now that I have the column titles long enough, The form view only allows up to 25? characters for the column/field titles. So I have about three lines per column title in the form view. I have no problem with the list view because I learned how to customize it, but when the user fills out the form (or should I say questionaire) it just looks kinda messy and is not using all the real  estate available to better display the form. I looked everywhere but found nothing on how or where to make the necessary changes to the form. If so, would this affects all other forms I have in the same dnn install? I'm really hoping there's a way to 'skin' the form per module install so it does not affect other udt's I have in the same dnn site?. thanks in advance for all your help.

I suggest to use the option "Labels Over Controls in Edit form". This option will be renamed in form and List 5.0.2 to "CSS based edit form".

See http://www.formandlist.com/Gallery/Feedback.aspx and compare it with its sub pages
