 Hi,

In order to being able to support multiple SSL certificates on a single DNN install, I'm considering setting the document root of multiple IIS websites to the same file path. This way multiple SSL certs become possible, but I guess this will cause scheduler problems?

I know there's an option to prevent scheduler issues in a webfarm configuration, by assiging the scheduler to a single webfarm node.

Thanks!

do not point multiple IIS web sites onto a single installation. you should use Multidomain SSL certifecates instead or assign multiple IPs with associated Certificates.

hi sebastian,

Just out of curiousity: What would be the potential risks of pointing multiple IIS web sites onto a single installation? For instance scheduler issues?

I'd also like to know if the memory consumption of each IIS website pointing to the same installation increases? So when I point let's say 10 IIS websites to the same installation, will the installation be loaded in memory 10 times as well?

(All IIS websites are running under the same IUSR)

Thanks!

DNN is designed to run as a single web site with multiple host headers and portals included. Multiple Web Sites pointing to the same installation will interfere and might load code multiple times. Besides this might affect SEO, if different host headers point to the same portal.

Why would you need multiple certs for a single installation?  Use a wildcard cert or configure separate DNN installations for each SSL site.
