How did you set up your admin email address, does the address domain meet the mail server domain? otherwise the server needs to support relaying.

A workaround to be used in feedback and newsletter modules is to use replyTo option, i.e. a dedicated from address will be used for the email, while replies are still sent to the original user's email address.

I am not sure exactly what you mean by "setting up admin email" or "does the address domain meet the mail server domain"

I set up the host email address in host settings.  It is not the same domain as the website. Does it need to be the same email domain as in the host settings?

Test emails work fine. Powerdnn support can't figure out the problem either.

"use replyTo option, "

I see a send from: field   I have changed the "Send To" field endlessly with different test email addresses

John,

sender usually is the administrator account, specified in Admin :: Site Settings.

Next go to Users in Admin menu and search for this looked up admin account. Enter details and you will get the appropriate email address used.

From Address in Feedback can be specified to use a dedicated sending email. this account should meet the email domain on the mail server, if possible.

I hope I am understanding you right. If not please correct me.     I changed the Administrator email to be the same as the the host email, which works with the test on the host site settings. But the feedback module still doesn't send and email (even though it says it is sent)
