We've done our own custom thing quite easily with OpenWebStudio which I think achieves much the same as you want to.

User Registration works with a single visible and required Profile Property - "Type".  On registration users must choose a type and from them another OWS scheduled configuration picks this up and applies a role according to the Type.  What happens from there just depends on what you need but all of that was fairly easy to do, and keeps users away from the Add (public) Role thing.

Mind you... looking at your site it's probably what I'd expect to see - a straight "Buy Now" method.

Hi,

Quick update on what I have seen over the last 24 hours using my new Advertise With Us Page...

It's not poweful enough.

Why? It can only take payments in 1 click from people who are logged in.

everyone else gets a crap ride.

If you are a member and not currently logged in you will get hit with a login, as you would expect, but it dumps you back to the site at the homepage. then you have to remeber what you are doing and go back to the advertise page and hit the same button again... nooo good.

And also, to boot, if you aren't a member and you have your site set to verify membership, the process is broken up even worse. (please register... emails... verfication codes. log back in. dumped at the homepage. lost interest...)

the other 2 options i have been looking at seem to tie in the registration and subscripton together in 1 smooth process...

Looks like i need to spend some more money and test....

Ho Hum

Hi,

Me Again.... yes i know....

Quick Update.

Bit the bullet and bought the Dynamic Registration Module from www.datasprings.com

Wow. Brilliant. Apart from a few hours spent barking up the wrong tree setting it up - the config screens are really good until you start working out how to attach post form completion actions to events....used the help system in snowcovered and got great support. Once i had got through the pain of the the config probs it flies great!

Its been live for about 12 hours and signups are great! Up about 300%

The process is now smooth... no pain. And plus I can configure a plethora of post completion actions. Stuff i didnt know i needed.

In summary, for me, the best registration module for DNN is Dynamic Registration. Trust me, you will need it one day.

Still work to do but now its just about time and configuring/customising.

Hope this helps people save the time ive spent on this...
