I have a custom module that displays multiple pieces of data regarding a listing  ( no not real estate)  my dilemma is I've create a relational construct that that is categories and questions, with an associate table creating a many - to many relationship.

This way the site owner can create questions dynamically instead of having a "FIXED" form the problem is the site owner would like it to look like a fixed form which leaves out the gridview , i've used a nested repeater objects which is perfect for displaying the data but sucks as to making an editable form.

What I would like to do is actually put a <form > inside my Parent repeater object , But that wont work since the DNN / .net wont allow embedded forms.

any suggestions on turning a multi - row data set into a single form

Take a look at this screen from ADefHelpDesk (souce code indluded), you can add unlimited comments for each "Ticket".

When you click on the select link next to one of the comments I simply hide the current panel that displays the list and show a panel that shows a form for editing the current comment.

This is done by just showing and hiding panels. You do not need another form tag.

thanks for the reply, but Im trying to make multiple rows  behave like fields in a single row

screenshot.jpg

where the top of the image is what Im trying to achieve and the bottom is a standard gridview.  The top form is a nested repeater object. since its dynamic I could use a trick of making the input and array  <input name= somefield[xyz]     Then just deal with the array after its posted.  The problem lies in , how do I make a form inside a module since the DNN page is a form and you cant put a form in a form ?

Your screen shot did not come through so forgive me if I am misunderstanding you.

If you use a ListView control you can have one row that displays several rows. In this module at:

Each Category is one row. The items are a nested Listview that is related to the Category. In this example it navigates you to another form when you click select link BUT you can easily have it use "inline editing" instead.
